2007 TWKSF Executive Committee Meeting
Summary:
Jonathan P. Miller, Secretary General of The
World Kuoshu Federation (TWKSF), provided the following update
on recent Federation activities.
The Executive Committee of TWKSF met on 29
July 2007 in Hunt Valley, Maryland, following the conclusion
of the 2007 U.S. International Kuoshu Championship Tournament.
Executive Committee members in attendance included:
Grandmaster Huang, Chien-Liang
Grandmaster Richard Lee
Grandmaster Li, Wing Kai
Master Joe Dunphy
Master Alex Czech
Master Kevin Preston
Master Robert Simpson
Master Malcom Hansen
Shih-fu Jonathan P. Miller
Other participants included noted Grandmasters,
Masters and Kuoshu Advisors from Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Agenda items discussed included:
• A report on the 2nd World Kuoshu
Championship Tournament, held in Singapore in November 2006;
• Status briefings on Federation activities
by the Presidents of the Pan-American, European and Asia
Kuoshu Federations (Asia Kuoshu Federation report delivered
via letter);
• A presentation by the President
of the German Kuoshu Federation on plans for the 2009 World
Kuoshu Championship Tournament, which will be held in Germany;
• A presentation by the Referee General
of TWKSF on plans for further development of referee and
judge training and certification;
• And a discussion on the formalization
of country-level Kuoshu Federations, as members of TWKSF.
The assembled Executive Committee members,
as well as Federation members and advisors, heard a report
on the current composition of Kuoshu Federation members –
61 member organizations from 31 different countries.
Finally, the Committee discussed at lengths
possible sanctions against a Federation member who has been
accused of unethical conduct. The assembled members requested
that the accused member be provided an opportunity to defend
themselves against the charges prior to official action (which
may include expulsion).
